We supported Johnnie Johnson with an interim senior IT manager to drive forward their IT strategy, provide leadership support to senior management/the internal IT team, and deliver a number of technical projects.

The Challenge:

Johnnie Johnson Housing (JJH) is a not-for-profit housing association. Providing a range of housing for circa 5000 properties in the North West, North East, Yorkshire, and Derbyshire regions.

After a series of ICT personnel changes, JJH had clear objectives outlined in their existing ICT strategy. However, a number of projects had stalled and there was a lack of clarity as to how to progress. ICT environments can quickly become a complex ‘web’ to grapple with, especially following changes in establishment, which was certainly the case for JJH. The team were experiencing difficulties in making sense of aspects of the ICT environment but had a strong desire to move forward.

The Solution:

Our experienced consultants were engaged and on hand to provide leadership and support to senior and technical personnel at JJH. Firstly, identifying clear priority areas, risks needing urgent mitigation and skills gaps. Secondly, identifying ways to re-align and invigorate the existing strategy. During this time, TechAlign were involved in assessing budgets, contracts, and service relationships to begin to make more longer-term strategic improvements.

TechAlign’s engagement with JJH continues today with the provision of ongoing senior ICT guidance and leadership. In addition, TechAlign continue to work with all areas of the business. Building relationships, understanding challenges, resolving issues and driving collaboration. There is plenty more to do based on the association’s exciting and highly transformative ICT strategy which enters its third delivery year in May 2020.
