We helped Ashton Pioneer Homes transform their ICT infrastructure and develop a long-term IT Strategy for the organisation.
The Client:
Ashton Pioneer Homes
The Challenge:
Ashton Pioneer Homes (APH) is a not-for-profit housing association managing almost 1,000 homes in the Ashton-Under-Lyne area of Tameside.
APH had an aging IT infrastructure due to prior under investment, coupled with a clear desire to embark on a journey of modernisation, risk reduction and transformation.
The Solution:
TechAlign initially focused its attention on addressing the most business-critical/risk mitigation areas that would bring immediate cost and efficiency benefits.
Once the major initial risks were mitigated, attention turned to the longer term. This was underpinned by the completion of a series of workshops involving APH customers, staff and board members. Collectively, the short-term improvement plan and long-term strategy resulted in a clear path forward for the organisation, something that was lacking in clarity prior to the project.
After completing the planning and strategy exercise, TechAlign has worked to design, and implement, a full infrastructure and device refresh for APH. This involved innovative collaboration with the Co-Operative Network Infrastructure (primarily led by Tameside Council) as well as other local IT businesses (including Network Connect Ltd) to deliver an end-to-end local and wide area network solution.
The network and infrastructure project will afford APH far greater performance, reliability and business continuity/disaster recovery capability than would have ever been possible in the past.
Find out what Sara Sharrock, Director of Resources had to say…
“It has been great working with Chris and the team at TechAlign. They worked quickly to identify and minimise risks and supported us in developing an affordable solution and a longer-term strategy. As a vendor neutral company, they designed a system that best meets our needs rather than an off the shelf one size fits all. Chris’s knowledge covered all aspects and he was able to translate technical IT jargon into understandable plans that residents, colleagues and the Board could relate to.
TechAlign have been very flexible in accommodating some changing requirements whilst still focusing on the main transformation project – In response to the current changing environment Chris and the team quickly adapted the project to support backup and DR whilst transitioning. I would highly recommend Chris and TechAlign whether you are looking to transform your IT or just need some interim support / advice from a very knowledgeable and friendly team.”
